Quaver's Marvelous World of Music -Writing a SONG
Class Notes - How do composers COMPOSE?
Compose your own WINTER SONG
Below are the melody cards you can use to help you compose your own "Winter Song".
Things to remember when composing your
NEW MELODY CARD:
To stay in 4/4 time, think of a “Du” or “Du-De” rhythm pattern you like that fits into 4 beats. Then play a melody on the bells that fits your pattern, using the same pitches as in the other cards (CDEFG).
Things to remember when composing your LYRICS:
Don't copy! When you copy someone else's lyrics and say they are yours, it's called "plagiarism" and it's against the law! If what you wrote sounds the same as a song that's already been written, try something else.
Use the keyboard below to practice the melodies above and to compose new melodies!
If you can't see the keyboard above, click on the picture of the keyboard to the left to take you to a website with a virtual keyboard you can use to compose online!
